If you have a stereo or surround sound system you should consider opting for Indoor Outdoor Wireless Speakers. Going this route for speakers will preclude any necessity of running or concealing wires. If you happen to not be very good at running wires under carpet or getting behind drywall or if you are good and simply do not want to go through the unnecessary work, wireless should be an appealing option. Though it is a clear upgrade, the wireless option is not a huge jump in expense. Opting for wireless speakers is not a tough call.
Compared to running the wire required for standard speakers, wireless speakers are much easier to install. Especially if you are setting the speakers up at a distance or even outside. With wireless there is no running the wire under carpet, behind drywall, or any other manner of concealing it. Within 150 feet it is as easy as setting it up and enjoying.
The set up of an Indoor outdoor wireless speaker itself is not a technically intensive process. The speakers come with a transmitter and run on either batteries or AC power. Simply plug your stereo output into the transmitter and either put batteries in the speakers or plug them in and the work is done.
It would seem that a speaker system that is more attractive visually, due to a lack of wires, and more convenient, as the installation is easier, would be more expensive. This is not true though. It is true that there is a range of between $40- $300, but the same is true for standard speakers. Most of the wireless options will have a minimum range of 150 feet and all have just as simple an installation process. The price dynamic can be attributed to the same factors as in the wired version; brand name, quality, appearance etc.
Be sure though that when dealing with wireless speakers, if you are using batteries not to leave them in permanently. Batteries can damage your speakers if left in. Additionally the life of the batteries will usually be limited to within 5-10 hours. This, however, only applies when you are not using the speakers through AC power.
Indoor outdoor wireless speakers are the obvious next step in sound systems. An indoor outdoor wireless speaker is easier to install, sounds just as good, does not come with the hassle of wires, and is just as inexpensive. If you do not already have a set, you should be asking yourself why.
