The amount of copy that can be provided to the printer is limited by the amount of memory that is provided in the printer. The competitors to the HL-6050DN provide 16MB of memory with their printers. Brother provides 32MB of memory along with the option of adding more memory should the need arise. An expansion slot will accept Brother memory chips that range in size. These sizes are 16MB, 32MB, 64MB and 128MB. The ability to add memory to the HL-6050DN makes it adaptable to any size small business network.

Other printers may print faster, however the HL-6050DN will print at 18 ppm. for as long as it is needed to. This speed, combined with 10-12 seconds startup time for the first page provides sufficient speed for all but the most exceptional situation that arises in the small business.

Once out of the box and connected to the network, the HL-6050DN is setup through Brother’s Quick Start utility program.
