Brother Intellifax 2920 Printer – Brother Intellifax 2920 Toner cartridge system is a laser monochrome printer, copier and high-speed fax machine that uses Brother Intellifax 2920 Toner cartridges, designed to meet the needs of small to medium size enterprises. This unit allows multiple users to share the same fax machine and copier in a variety of network configurations. The incorporation of a high-capacity front loading paper tray makes paper handling simple. A 10,000 image monthly duty cycle makes departmental support a breeze.
Memory capacity is 600 pages in any 4 fax modes. The unit is Super 3G compatible. The Brother Intellifax 2920 can fax compressed data in any of the top five standards; JBIG, MH, MR, or MMR. Faxing out from computers within the network is enabled. Four distinct operational modes make the 2920 a peripheral that adapts to meet the needs of the office it serves. The service modes are:
Fax/Tel. Fax/Tel mode sets the unit as the default answering unit for all calls. The 2920 identifies each call as voice or fax, then accepts faxes or forwards voice to a whatever extension has been assigned. The Fax/Tel mode intended for deployment on phone lines that primarily receive fax calls. Not using it on a primary voice call line id discouraged because answering machines cannot be part of the mix.
In Manual Receive mode the Brother Intellifax 2920 unit must be answered by a live voice. If unanswered, the call is dropped. It cannot be forwarded to an answering machine, even the office voice mail system. If the line is shared with another computer or computers, the Manual Distinctive Ring feature must be activated. If the call is a fax, the person answering the line simply keeps the line open until the 2920 unit picks up.
In External Telephone Answering Device (TAD) mode the system operates in conjunction with an external answering machine only. There is no forwarding of voice calls to another extension. All voice calls dump to an external dedicated answering machine. If the call is a fax, the 2920 receives the fax.
The Fax Only mode is self-explanatory and is intended for dedicated fax lines only.
As a copier, the Brother Intellifax 2920 Printer features 15 pages per minute copying speed, 200 x 300 dpi resolution, up to 64 gray-scale half tones, enlargement – reduction variations from 200% down to 50% and up to 99 copy capacity.
The document and media handling range of the 2920 is from legal size down to 3.9 x 5.8 inches. Document feed capacity is 20 sheets and supports plain paper. Output trays hold up to 100 sheets, the input tray has a maximum capacity of 250 8.5 x 14 sheets with weight from 60 g/m2 to 161 g/m2.
