For people who are in dire need of a cheap and good quality laser printer the Brother 2070N printer is an excellent choice. This printer has the ability to either be directly attached to your existing network or to your computer. The printer is great at printing crisp and sharp text which is well defined and shaped.

Setting up the printer is very easy and weighing in at just 14.3 pounds it is also easy to handle. The built-in automated network setup helps you get up and running in no time. If you look closely at the Brother HL-2070 you will notice that it is actually a variation of the HL 2040. The same print engine is here which has a 250 sheet capacity. Like the HL 2040 it also has the convenience of the one sheet manual feed.

This printer is however not in anyway the HL 2040 with added network function that most people would think. This printer has network functions as well as more memory. The printer processes your printing job rather than stress your computer which speeds things up.

The HL 2070 is quite fast and turned out a decent page per minute. Since laser printers are all about speed and quality text this one surely does the job it is supposed to. Photo printing on this printer is however slower than other printers tested and at high resolution it slows down significantly. This printer is not a very good graphics printer and shouldn’t be used to print high resolution graphic images. There are problems with the printer’s ability with dithering and posterization. Text on the other hand is remarkable and very clear at four points.

This printer seems to also have an awful paper handling bug because it manages to curl the pages slightly. This however has been fixed to some extend on future models. If you are a person that requires a good text printer then this printer is surely worth considering. However hold off the decision if you want to print high resolution graphics.

This printer has been set at a very good prince level and does a decent job. It excels at what laser printers are meant to do and that is print high quality text. It can still print small low resolution graphics but you shouldnt expect good results. However it does quite a good job at printing fine monochrome graphics which some word documents have.

The Brother HL 2070N Toner is large enough to provide you with a considerable period of service. You won’t have to constantly replace it. In most small offices this toner should last you a few moths depending on just how much you print.

If you use the Brother HL 2070N Toner Cartridge to print graphics it’s going to exhaust the Brother HL Toner Cartridges sooner than you expect. This is another reason why you shouldn’t use this printer to output high resolution graphics and just stick to text. Your text will look crisp and sharp as compared to your graphics so just keep this printer to text. Leave out all the other stuff from your documents.
