The Advantages and Minuses of Bicycles versus Motor Scooters

December 18th, 2009 · No Comments · Autos, Trucks and More

The convenience of going to any place can actually be felt by having your own set of wheels. However, buying one isn’t something comparable to buying a product in the market. To own a vehicle, one must be able to save up for a large amount of money, given the fact that a one-time big-time pay is not enough to have his/her own set of wheels. Getting your car is accompanied by paying gasoline and fees to maintain the performance of your car.

However, there are people who prefer to buy single-person vehicles, particularly bicycles and motor scooters. Scooters for sale could be a good choice for you. But there are downsides to solo travel. Here in this article is a bike and motorcycle comparison.

Only one to two persons are allowed to ride in both bicycles and motorcycles. Big parking spaces are not a requirement for both vehicles, and riders do not need to seriously study how to drive bikes and motorcycles. So, it is easy to see that the two choices have something in common. Still, the two have more discrepancies than similarities, so let us take a look at those.

No smoke of any kind comes out from bicycles. Since they only have the wheel and axle working, they are sold at a lower price. They do not need gasoline and only undergoes occasional maintenance, so you don’t have to spend that much. On the other hand, a considerable amount of energy is required from the biker, since the vehicle has to move by pedaling. If the destination is considerably far, then using a bike is not a good idea. Moreover, major highways and roads do not allow bicycles to run through.

Because of the presence of engine, a motorcycle will undoubtedly give out smoke. Of course this is not true with electric motor scooters, only gas scooters. The price of scooters, compared to bicycles, should expectedly be higher. Preparation of money is needed for regular gasoline refilling and maintenance. However, this does not require pedaling like a bicycle does, so it will not drain the energy out of the motorist. Travelling to a far place would not be an advantage. Some areas do not allow the use of motorcycles on the road, but they are less frequent compared to the number of areas that prohibits bicycling. The faster speed motorcycles have is also a major plus.

The affordable cost of bicycles makes it a good choice for the more conventional rider. It is a way of exercise and does not harm the environment. If you are more of the adventurous rider, the motorcycle will be your best bet. With better speed, farther travelling capacity and the absence of pedaling, motorcyclists will enjoy riding on this one.

To choose what will help you in your travel still relies on your decision. Some people may find the motorcycle’s benefits in a bicycle. The same thing would apply for the motorcycle.

These vehicles are meant for quick fixes. Meanwhile, cars and vans’ days are numbered if one finds it being his/her vehicle for life.
