The Canon EOS Digital Rebel Cameras Continue to Impress and Amaze

The EOS Rebel series has been with us for a decade now and in that decade, the new improvements in technology when it comes to photography has come in big leaps. The company which makes the EOS DSLR line of cameras has gone with the flow and has even pioneered some of the features that we now find so common in the digital cameras of today. The EOS series was one of the first series of cameras to incorporate a digital processor within the manual SLR. Of course this occurred with film and nothing was done digitally.

The use of the chip was to help the shutter-bug in making the right exposures. This resulted in better lit pictures in their cameras and clearer pictures when broadcast due to the exact value of the exposure setting. This feature also ran the auto focus of the lenses which was a novel addition in film cameras since it allowed for less targeting time which saved the photographer time.

The EOS would shortly evolve into the EOS DSLR series which was a completely digital line of cameras. The first consumer level test subject would be the revolutionary EOS Digital Rebel ( AKA 300D or KISS Digital ) which was the 1st consumer DSLR under $1,000. Canon had several digital SLR cameras before the 300D, but they were aimed at the professional shooter not the average purchaser.

It may seem that the sensor quality of these older cameras between 2-4 MP was poor when put next to the DSLRs of today. But keep in mind that with the appearance of these new devices, most shutterbugs may be able to lose the film rolls that are very exposed to the elements and often become quite lumpish in long trips such as holidays or tours.

Having a view-screen permitted the cameraman to see their pictures straight away instead of waiting for film to be processed and developed. This removes the bad pictures that would have wasted so much film in the past.

Note that these features were still developing back then. Most of the auto focus functions wouldn’t be as trusty, and lenses had their affectations with the most common problem being a cloudy picture which resulted from the incompatibility of the lens light refraction with the fledgling image sensors.

The most recent line from this producing company has also taken a new jump in features regarding their DSLR line. Getting onto the High Definition bandwagon, they now popped up with an EOS Rebel line that’s able to take HD videos with sound. This would suggest the shutter-bug will have the additional option of taking videos, a choice that was previously not available in the DSLR of most brands. As with any new technology, this is still in its testing phase and consumers can expect there to be minor issues.

The biggest problem though is where do you go when you want Canon EOS Digital Rebel camera repair? With smaller and smaller parts, the elements of the devices become rather more complicated. Service centres have to be experienced with your make and model camera, do not just pay the manufacturer $200 to perform a straightforward repair for you, look round and investigate your options! If you cannot mend your camera, you can still buy new Canon digital camera online thru a trusted website or Amazon shop.
