Wiper blades Are No Longer Only Used On Car Windshields, They Have Lots Of Different Uses In Society

When Windscreen wipers were initially invented, it was to help the car user to maintain his clear windshield without needing to put his hand out of the automobile and clean the window maually.

Practically anywhere that glass is found, so will you find Wiper blades. They are not just used for the front windscreen of an automobile, but often with hatchbacks are also fixed to the rear window. Some vehicles also have Wiper blades on their headlights. This is most effective for dirty roads, or in snowy weather conditions, when headlamps would soon become much less efficient without this brilliant invention.

Even planes have Windscreen wipers and I would expect that they need to have some of the best Wiper blades around. As they travel at such quick speeds and with huge temperature variations anything less than the highest quality would soon perish.

Public transport, be it buses, trams or trains, all have Windscreen wipers in order to help their drivers to see where they are going. Although trains are on rails, and so it may be wondered “well why is it necessary for a train driver to see so well?” there are still signals along the train track which the train operator needs to take heed of in order to ensure the safety of the passengers. The train driver also needs to be able to see when driving towards a station that the train stops in the right place. Wiper blades, therefore, are important for all types of public transport.

Motorbikes do not seem to have Windscreen wipers and this is most likely due to the fact that not all motorbikes have windscreens. Motorbike riders wear safety helmets with visors and they often also have a special rain visor, so the requirement for Wiper blades on a motorcycle is not as necessary as it would be for other types of vehicle.

The best wiper blades not connected to vehicles have in my opinion got to be those used by window cleaners. How much easier it is to get a clean result on home, office and shop windows by using Wiper blades than ever it was with cream cleaners and elbow grease. I am not sure who first had the idea to move the Wiper blades away from the vehicle windscreen and used them on a window, but I admire their resourcefulness hugely. Sparkling windows are now much more easily achievable.

Small versions of Wiper blades are also available for use in the bathroom, on shower screens and tiles, in order to keep these clear and help prevent the build up of limescale.

This all just goes to show how one individual’s idea of how to improve life for a certain set of people can actually improve many more individuals’ daily lives eventually.
