Why do I need Contributions?
Yes, I could have accumulated the money needed to buy the MBP myself over years. Now that I have graduated things don’t come easily when you have a student debt your trying to clear.
This is like a challenge to me. I want to see how effective and active the internet community & fraternity has become over the years.While using the laptop purchased with funds accumulated from contributors & online friends across the globe,
Its more a feeling of satisfaction and confidence knowing that the whole world stands by me and has helped make my dream a reality. Not to mention I can brag to the world and say thanks to my online friends, for you who have given me this spectacular laptop on my birthday!
Why a MacBook Pro ?
Yes, why a pricier Apple Macbook Pro when one can get laptops @ $500 these days? The thing is, as a computer graphics designer I require this laptop in particular to be able to work in my specialist field of special effects, video editing and interactive website design or gaming.
Mac laptops are considered elite class, fashionable and feature rich here in New Zealand. So like Apple, I decided to “think different” -of course that’d make my birthday really special.
At present I am using a Power PC G4, it allows me to do design jobs like print work and website design but not work in my field of special effects, video and interactive design.
When I purchased this computer it cost me around $700 and at the time it was considered top of the linebut doesnt have the tools installed in it like the Mac book pro for me to do what I am passionate about, the MBP costs too much for me to lay hands on right now; hence I need your contributions.
Is this a fundraiser or anything else?
Yes, some might look at it as digital begging, but sorry, I have to differ, it’s a fundraiser for a personal cause. I’ve seen a US guy accumulate funds for a car of his dreams in a similar way and was successful! Compared to that, this is a really small target to achieve…isn’t it?
Oh yes, this isn’t a scam either.I have my online reputation to protect which I have built at various online communities and forums over the years!I will also post a picture of me and my laptop when bought.
Not to mention my professional integrity and degree qualification from the Whanganui School of Design which is regarded as one of the top 5 design schools around the world,
